I have not read more than the cover and first pages, but The Others by D.M. Wind is sitting next to me to fulfill the Horror or Paranormal square on my Book Bingo card.
I shocked myself by finishing 5 whole books in January. (I'm getting back oon the bus, I swear, but it is still so hard to read new things.)
Sometimes the idea of getting emotionally attached to new characters is absolutely devastating, and reading something new to me becomes becomes utterly unbearable. Reading can be weird.
It really can, especially when reading was your ESCAPE from horrible childhood, and now you're an adult and you realize the escape was never going to be enough.
