Name: Skye Pronouns: she/her Age Group: 30s/Millennial Dealbreaker(s): A full list of the kind of people I will not get along with is on my journal's pinned post, but in short: don't be an asshole to me or to others, and we'll get along fine.
I Recently Finished Reading:Network Effect, Martha Wells; less recently: Everything is Tuberculosis, John Green A Book I Want to Reread: I reread a lot, but one of these days I want to settle in and reread The Lord of the Rings. It's been a while, and I want to revisit it. Some Published Titles From My To Be Read List: I don't keep a TBR list (I have a feeling it would be too overwhelming), but some books I've had a while that I want to read: Gideon the Ninth, Tamsyn Muir; rest of the InCryptid series books that I have (which is several), Seanan McGuire; rest of the Newsflesh trilogy, Mira Grant; Old Man's War, John Scalzi A Book Not-Yet-Published I'm Excited About: cannot currently think of anything... Related Book News I've Got My Eye On: Very excited for the Murderbot TV show that's premiering on the 16th of this month!!
My All-Time Favorite Book(s):The Goblin Emperor, Katherine Addison; Network Effect, Martha Wells; The Blue Sword, Robin McKinley My Favorite Book Genre(s): I mostly read Fantasy and Science Fiction A Book I Recommend in My Favorite Genre(s): The Murderbot Diaries, Martha Wells; everything Robin McKinley has written A Book I Don't Recommend in My Favorite Genre(s): I DNF'd Ready Player One (Ernest Cline) and liked but opted not to continue reading the series for The Name of the Wind (Patrick Rothfuss) for the same reason: everything interesting about those books derails about halfway through because The Male Protagonist Is Obsessed With A Girl. While Name gets back on track eventually, Cline's prose was not impressive enough for me to want to finish RPO. A Genre I'm Interested in Trying Out: Tbh I'm happy where I am, genre-wise, though I am always willing to take recs for nonfiction books about science history.
Link to My Latest Book Review: n/a Link to My Reading Log: I'm skyewriter30 on Storygraph, but I am not great about keeping it updated...
Books/Genres I'm Interested in Discussing/Chatting About: Willing to chat about anything book-related, to be honest!! Would love to connect with other Robin McKinley fans, too!
