I Read: 35 books
My Reading Goal: my goal was 35
I Challenged Myself: I didn't do any challenges, and did not feel like I challenged myself much, just read what I wanted to read.
A New Genre I Attempted: cozy fantasy. I am not a huge fan of fantasy (or a fan at all in general), but I have found that cozy fantasy is very light on the actual fantasy sometimes, so that helps.
An Author New-to-me in 2024 I Really Enjoyed: Kate Quinn - I read Signal Moon and it was really good. Its a novella/short story, set during WWII, about a young woman who intercepts messages and sends them to Bletchley Park. But one day she gets a message from a soldier requesting help... from 2023! So its a bit timey whimey.
My Favorite Book of the Year: I'm not sure I had a book that was outstanding enough to be a favourite, I read a lot that I enjoyed, but I guess I really liked The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst and also The Anomoly by Michael Rutger
Books I Read in 2024 That I Recommend:

Here's 10:

Signal Moon by Kate Quinn
The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst
The Anomoly by Michael Rutger
Drowning by T.J. Newman
Black Sheep by Rachael Harrison
Metronome by Tom Watson
Clear by Carys Davis
The Stardust Grail by Yume Kitasei
The Tenfold Tenants by E.V. Belknap
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna

In 2025:

My Reading Goal: I've set my goal low this year, just 20-ish, because I want to challenge myself to read longer books and I feel like a lower number gives me more space to do that.
I'm Going to Challenge Myself: To read longer books. also, I am doing a couple of challenges I found over on The StoryGraph:

Intro to Comics and Graphic Novels 2025
2025 Cozy Reading Challenge
Horror Subgenre Challenge 2025

But I probably won't complete them all, I'm mostly just using them to help me pick my next read.

My TBR List: I have a small list (under 40 books) on goodreads of things I want to read but I have no plans. I'm very much a mood reader, whatever I am in the mood to read at that moment is what I will read, even if its not on my tbr.

A Book Coming Out in 2025 That I'm Excited About:
Cold Eternity by S.A. Barnes
Adrift in Currents Clean and Clear by Seanan McGuire (wayward children #10) - this is tentative, because I didn't like the last few books in the series as much, but I do usually enjoy the ones based on a single character more, so heres hoping its good.

Other Book-Related News for 2025 I'm Interested In:

some movie adaptions that may come out 2025 that I'm interested in:
The Running Man by Stephen King
The Electric State by Simon Stålenhag - on netflix in March
