It is not Wednesday and I am not [personal profile] quillpunk, but I want to mention that I finished Impossible Monsters and I'm sure other people have reading updates.

The Nightmare before Kissmas is really cute, but I'm on the last leg of it, and I'm expecting things to go wrong before our heroes before they get better.

Today on daily War and Peace Pierre decided to go party with his shitty friends despite his promise to Prince Andrew. Nothing much to say, because boring assholes are boring assholes.

I started Hunter's Moon by Dana Stabenow yesterday and I'm not sure why. I accidentally spoiled myself on the book and know that one of my favorite characters dies at some point. Yet, here I am. I do love this series though.

I didn't finish anything! Holiday omg!

Right now I'm reading Fiasco by Constance Fay - Book 2, a sequel-about-different-characters to her space opera/romance book Calamity, which I loved a lot. Unfortunately...I'm kind of not liking this book! Not sure why, the characters are just not clicking and that is making the romance syndrome of "constantly thinking about how hot the LI is" really annoying.

Also reading Windfall by Maggie Anderson - Poetry! Random poetry that I picked up somewhere, now reading because it's short and and a quick Number-Go-Up hit of reading adrenaline. ;P I'm not great at reviewing poetry - I just like what I like.

I finished Dragonhaven (Robin McKinley) on Friday last week. I have since started reading Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie. This is another reread for me, but it's been several years since I initially read this book, so I'm coming to it at least halfway fresh.

Next on my docket is probably going to be John Scalzi's Starter Villain, which I just got from a library ebook hold.

Finished reading The Spear Cuts Through Water, gorgeous book. I read this two years ago but never finished it, so I'm happy I finally finished it.

I'm currently reading The City in Glass by Nghi Vo. I'm not really feeling it compared to The Empress of Salt and Fortune, but I'm still very early in the book.

So much Sonic The Comic!. I'm finally at a point where my favorite character from the games, Knuckles, has been introduced as a regular for the story!

Idk what to gush about without risking spoilers. I like the nasty, weird humor? I like the surrealism and way they use the science fantasy elements to contribute to the dreamy stuff? The variety of artists illustrating for it? The side stories that give characters not named Sonic more spotlight and development and also add more worldbuilding? A lot man. There's a lot. 😍

I finished Terrance Dick's Doctor Who and the Genesis of the Daleks, an adequate retelling of the story.

I highly recommend The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley, a very original story of a British ministry experimenting with time by bringing a handful of people from the past forward to the future. Crisp & clever writing and a page turning plot, this one will go on my Hugo nomination ballot this year.

I'll probably finish The Incredible History of Cooking today. I never thought a comic on food would be such a great read.
