Date: 2024-04-28 02:29 am (UTC)I heard a lot of good things about The Indian Lake trilogy, but I'm not very familiar with the horror genre. Would this be a good starting place?

Date: 2024-04-28 12:29 pm (UTC)I wouldn't rec Indian Lake for someone not very familiar with horror. It has a buuunch of Horror movie references and the writing is... interesting, to say the least. I think any Darcy Coates novel could be a good introduction! Erin A. Craig also has some great YA Horror books to dip your toes in.

She's written haunted house horror (The Carrow Haunt), winter/apocalyptic horror (Dead of Winter and Voices in the Snow), survival horror (Hunted), aquatic horror (From Below)... there are a lot of possibilities :D
