Finished The Raven Scholar and am sticking with my earlier description of "mostly very good". I had twinges of light novel trope burnout when it was trying so hard to establish the protagonist as The Most Despised Person Evar and when the highly structured tournament was introduced, and there were several times when I paused to wonder if something was a sign that this is a post-apocalyptic version of our world or just standard lazy fantasy worldbuilding. But these are minor quibbles with a book that is good at great length. Can still recommend.

8. Dzurlord by "Architects Adventure", another book in the Crossroads Adventures gamebook series, and only the second one in that series which I can describe as "actually good". In fact, probably the best one I've read so far. I'd love to know the author's real identity but that information does not appear to be on the interwebs anywhere.

I'm 60ish pages into Lost in The Never Woods by Aiden Thomas, which has been on my shelves for a full five years since my 2021 "support the bookshops during this difficult time!" shopping sprees. Enjoying it a lot so far, there's lots of mystery going on and I'm keen to see what happens.

Trying to finish the fourth book in the Tales from the Gas Station series. Not really enjoying the crazy plot twists anymore, just want to cross it off my list at this point. Not bad, just tiresome.

oh interesting, i remember liking the pages in Year of the Tiger that were more visual/more like little posters because they were unexpected to me. but i definitely agree that it reads more like the collection of articles that it is than a single memoir.
