Date: 2024-02-14 10:52 am (UTC)Now I'm reading:
- So Let Them Burn by Kamilah Cole and it's not entirely what I expected for a YA Fantasy book! I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far since it focuses on sibling relationships and there are dragons. The writing is pretty easy to get into as well.
- The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden which is Historical/Paranormal set in WWI times. I'm not a fan of the split narrative, but I love Laura's perspective so far. It's so cozy to me in a really weird way lol

Date: 2024-02-14 11:12 am (UTC)Currently reading Soul Eater by Lily Mayne, an m/m monster romance novel in a post-apocalyptic setting. This is a reread; I still really like it :D Really digging the post-apocalyptic imagery and the romance is sweet!
Still reading Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky (sci-fi) and Blood Price by Tanya Huff (urban fantasy). Progress has not been made at all, lol, but I did finish Out of the Dark by David Weber (sci-fi, alien invasion); didn't like it quite as much this time around. Some of the characters just annoyed me :(

Date: 2024-02-15 10:57 am (UTC)I found book 1 rough in a few places, but I really liked the ideas and the dynamic so I stuck it out. I'm excited to get to the more recent books

Date: 2024-02-14 06:13 pm (UTC)I do have a few books out on Libby right now, so I might try and start one of those soon. I'm particularly eyeing, No Gods, No Monsters by Cadwell Turnbull, but we'll see.

Date: 2024-02-15 07:56 am (UTC)I managed to make it through the audio book I was struggling with last week and Exit Strategy as a reward so now I'm listening to Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson - not loving this as much as I did the Mistborn series. I have The Testaments by Margaret Atwood lined up as my next listen. *I have a copy of Fugitive Telemetry lined up as a reward for finishing anything I'm not enjoying - this will be a first time listen when I get to it*
My next early reviewer read is Vespertine Dreams by Aster Rye - I love the first in the series so am hoping this is as good.
