Nope. I read The Mountain Is You and it's been such a huge slog to finish.

But I started Nocturnes for the King of Naples by Edmund White today and it's already so good (and short).

continuing the trend with a "not really." i recently finished Ethan Rutherford's North Sun: Or, the Voyage of the Whaleship Esther, which i did enjoy, but have since been struggling to make progress with either The Red Winter by Cameron Sullivan or The Resurrectionist by A. Rae Dunlap, and may end up dropping the former as the writing style is not my cuppa.

Finished Vallista and it's my favorite of the series so far. It's fully engaged with the big overall plot and the potentially science-fictional aspects of the setting. Also the moment where one of the big schemers of the series realizes that their plan may have succeeded 400 years ago and they're only just realizing it.

13. Hawk, chronologically next in the main Dragaera series (though published some years earlier). It's okay. It mostly resolves a major plot thread, but it's not part of the big science-fictional stuff.

Two published books and two unpublished ones to go in this series.

14. Ballet Shoes. I got a copy to make my partner read in exchange for my having read Speed Six! and then had to reread it myself first before passing it on. I'm about halfway through and it's holding up very well so far.
