I think there's definitely that aspect, but also I was doing a jigsaw at the time and not really giving it the attention it probably deserved with that much bouncing around :D

It's been awhile since I read it, but yeah I'm not sure whether it was deliberately playing around with the idea of an unreliable narrator or was just how the story panned out to get it to the place the author wanted it to. I keep meaning to pick up her newer series as I hated Between Two Thorns whilst liking the concept.
